Dr. Tom Hicks

Adjunct Professor of Historical Theology

Dr. Tom Hicks has served in pastoral ministry since 2006. In the fall of 2017, he was called to be the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Clinton, Louisiana. He is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received an MDiv and a PhD in church history and systematic theology. His academic work has focused on the doctrine of justification, and he wrote his PhD dissertation comparing and contrasting the doctrines of justification in the theologies of Richard Baxter and Benjamin Keach. He has been published in several journals, and has contributed chapters to various theological books, including By Common Confession, Recovering a Covenantal Heritage, and Whomever He Wills. Dr. Hicks and his wife, Joy, have four children, all of whom are wonderful blessings from the Lord.
