Dr. Ian Fuller
Visiting Professor of Apologetics
Dr Ian Fuller is an Associate Professor in Physical Geography at Massey University, New Zealand. He has a first class B.Sc. Honours degree in Geography and a Ph.D. in Earth Science / Physical Geography from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. His first academic appointment was at Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, in 1996, where he began lecturing in Physical Geography, before moving to New Zealand in 2003 to take up a lectureship at Massey. He teaches courses at every level in the undergraduate degree, as well as the postgraduate programme, and supervises several Masters and Doctoral students. Ian’s main arena of teaching and research involves dynamics and change in river systems, both from an understanding of processes operating in river catchments, as well as applying this knowledge to inform river management. He also has a sub-Editor position on the Journal of Geography in Higher Education, reflecting an interest in and commitment to pedagogic research in the discipline. To date he has published over 80 peer reviewed research articles in both the science and pedagogy of Physical Geography.
Ian serves as an Elder at Crosspoint Church in Palmerston North alongside Dafydd Hughes. He is married to Katherine and they have two sons, currently pursuing Further and Higher Education in New Zealand.
